Powerboat practical courses are based at our wetside training facility in Whitstable Harbour, with immediate access to the Thames Estuary and the River Swale. Unlike some training centres, we are able to cover all aspects of launch and recovery on tidal waters practically, subject to suitable conditions. RYA Level 2 courses, the most popular for those starting out in powerboating, are mostly held around early afternoon tide times. This allows maximum time afloat for hands on practice.

"Evolution"

 

Evolution is a 6.2 metre Spartun Spear rigid hull inflatable boat powered by an Evinrude 175hp V6 direct injection outboard motor. She is fully equipped with up to date communication and navigation equipment to make her suitable to go to sea on all powerboat courses up to advanced level. Evolution can be available for event cover subject to training commitments and can be crewed by practising emergency services personnel with experience of search and rescue.
